Dr. Jamison Heard is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and the Director of the Adaptive Human-Robot Teaming (AHRT) Lab. Prior to joining RIT, Dr. Heard was a researcher at Oregon State University’s Robotics Department (2017-2019).

Dr. Heard’s research focuses on developing innovative methods for robots to collaborate with humans effectively, spanning human-aware reinforcement learning, robust human-state estimation, and inclusive social robotics. The AHRT Lab’s mission is to create intelligent systems that adapt to their human partners, making human-robot teams safer, more efficient, and more accessible.
