We always welcome highly qualified students, post docs and research collaborators. If you are interested in joining the Adaptive Human-Robot Teaming Lab in a research capacity, please follow the directions below..

Post Doctoral Researchers:

There are currently no open post-doctoral positions.

Prospective Graduate Students:

If you are genuinely interested in joining the AHRTLab as a graduate student, then please:

Prepare an email that meets the follow requirements. The subject line of your email must state: AHRTLab: Prospective Graduate Student Clearly state in your email what specific graduate program you are interested in and which degree, Master’s Thesis, Master’s Graduate Paper, or PhD. Please note that Dr. Heard does NOT generally fund Master’s students via a research assistantship. Please provide the following documents in PDF format only. Do not attach Microsoft documents or include cloud links or webpage links.

  • A brief statement of your specific research interest and its relationship to ongoing AHRTLab research efforts.
  • A complete resume/CV that includes all education, professional training, work history, publications, etc.
  • Transcripts from educational institutions, may be unofficial.

Prospective Undergraduate Students:

If you are a freshman with limited to no prior programming or engineering expertise, then please do not seek a research position until Spring of your first year. If you are genuinely interested in joining the AHRTLab as an undergraduate student, then please:

  • Prepare an email that meets the follow requirements:
    • The subject line of your email must state: AHRTLab: Prospective Undergraduate Student
    • Clearly state in your email what specific undergraduate program you are enrolled in, your year of study, and if attempting to apply for a position as part of a university wide program, what program.
  • Please provide the following documents, in PDF format only. Do not attach Microsoft documents or include cloud links or webpage links.
